Get Into the Holiday Spirit with Santa, Cookies, & More
The 4th Annual Holiday Open House was Friday, November 30th, 2018 at the Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce. Definitely one of our more fun and community-oriented events, this event kicks off the Christmas holiday in Page County with Santa's first visit to the area, hot cocoa, Christmas cookies, holiday punch, and other goodies provided by the Chamber staff. For photos with Santa, attendees are encouraged to bring a $5.00 dontation or some canned goods, all of which is given to our partner at the event's conclusion.
Additionally, we've worked with the Page County Public Schools, Mt. Carmel Christian Academy/Baptist Church, and the Page Community Choir over the past few years to provide live music and Christmas carols while the families wait in line to see Santa. We expanded last year to include free barrel train rides on Mr. Ed's Barrel Train. And, for the last three years, we've joined with the Luray Downtown Initiative (LDI) and the Town of Luray for the official lighting of their 21' Christmas tree on the Performing Arts Luray Plaza.
The event has had a huge turnout with hundreds of people in attendance and we look forward to seeing the community come out again this year for one of our staff's favorite events of the season! Check back at the start of the holiday season for details on the 2019 event.
