Luray Caverns

Discover the Wonder of Luray Caverns

Luray Caverns is the most popular caverns in Eastern America, located in Luray Va right outside of the Shenandoah National Park, in the Shenandoah valley. Millions of visitors have toured the limestone halls over the years since it was first discovered on August 13, 1878. Guided tours along paved, well-lit walkways leave every 15 minutes to ensure visitors aren't waiting too long. These one hour tours wind among the beauty of the underground. Cathedral ceilings stretching 10-stories high, magnificent limestone structures and columns, a one-of-a-kind optical illusion at dream lake, and the great stalacpipe organ await anyone looking for a new kind of adventure.

Admission also includes passes to the Luray Valley Museum, Car & Carriage Caravan Museum, and Toy Town Junction. Have kids with a little extra energy to burn or want to spend some time bonding? Get lost and found in the Garden Maze or let your kids strike out on their own at the Rope Adventure Park. Let the kids make a memory sifting for gold at the Luray Valley Museum, allow the photographers on staff memorialize the moment with a family photo, or pick out a toy, shirt, or other trinket in the gift shop. Make your visit as long or as short as you want and stay for an hour, a few, or spend the whole day having fun exploring and learning as a family. No matter what, there’s something for everyone at the Luray Caverns, so get ready to explore! Need a quick bite to eat, but not ready to leave just yet? Enjoy a simple lunch or snack at the on-site cafe.
